In
"Inspired By Autism", Claudreen
shares her experiences and struggles
in trying to raise a son (PJ) who is
handicapped by autism and is now 34
years old. Because PJ is on the
lower end of the autism spectrum, he
is not "recovered". Claudreen says
that PJ is not recovered, but she
is.
She
offers support and encouragement to
parents in similar situations by
sharing original poetry, scriptures
and quotations that gave her comfort
when she needed it. She includes
cartoons of actual events that
finally made her laugh about autism.
Claudreen was married to Pervis
Jackson, of the Spinners singing
group. Perrvis died in August, 2008,
but not before mentoring and
encouraging Claudreen as she was
writing this book.
